Khushboo completed her school education despite violent opposition from her father, who turned her out of his house because she insisted on continuing her education after 10 th grade. With the support from her grandmother, Khushboo completed her schooling at Prerna and resisted child marriage. She now has a masters degree in women studies and is pursuing a course in Nursery Teacher Training (NTT). Currently works as Production and Purchase manager at Didi's Foods & Creation.

My education paved a way for a brighter future for me, my siblings and my family Meet Laxmi (28), a young entrepreneur who is an inspiration to many girls. Laxmi started working as a domestic helper at the age of 7, to support her family when her mother got sick after 'uterus surgery'. She was enrolled in a local school, which she atte nded very irregularly and dropped out after 2-3 years because her mother was sick and needed care and also because they couldn't afford the school fee. Today, Laxmi has completed her Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and has set up her own printing business. Like her, all her sisters are studying at Prerna Girls School, a school that Dr Urvashi Sahni founded in 2003 for girls with lives like her, prompted by the belief that all girls should be given access to education.

Nidhi was about to appear for her class 10th exams when her elder sister - who was engaged and was about to get married - eloped with her paramour. Fearing public defamation, Nidhi's parents decided to marry her to the to be groom of her elder sister. She happily agreed as she did not want her parents to feel bad and invitations cards were also printed.
