Convocation Ceremony held at Center for Learning

The convocation ceremony of Study Hall Center for Learning was organised on 8th October 2016. All students of classes of 10th and 12th of 2015-2016 batch were felicitated on the occasion. The topper of the class 12th, Aishwarya Laxmi Pandey and Harleen Kaur of class 10th were felicitated along with the subject toppers of both the classes. All the other students who had appeared from this center were also felicitated on this occasion.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. Urvashi Sahni, President and  CEO of the Study Hall Educational Foundation. She delivered a powerful opening speech and welcomed the students and their families alike. This was followed by some inspirational words from our Principal, Dr. Pratima Srivastava. The complete picture of vision and working of Study Hall Center for Learning was presented and parents were also enlightened with the success stories of the students of the center. The ceremony also exhibited two performances. The first one being an Indian classical vocal performance, followed by a contemporary western dance. The recent alumni of the center shared their success stories, also the proud parents thanked the Center for Learning for its immense support and motivation.

Not just this, but Study Hall also got officially affiliated with the NIOS Board and got upgraded to an accredited centre to hold NIOS exams.

Dussehra celebrations mark the victory of good over evil

A surge excitement prevailed in The Prep School (above) as the children celebrated the festival of Dussehra zestfully by making craft items and watching the Ramleela avidly performed by our students of Prerna Boys School. There was merriment and gaiety all around as the effigy of devil king Ravana was burnt marking the ‘victory of good over evil’. A similar Ravan effigy burning also took place at the Junior School (below) as well.

Prerna Girls shine in basketball

Shalu, a basketball player from Prerna Girls School in Gomti Nagar has been selected to represent Uttar Pradesh in the Under-14 National Basketball Tournament being organised by the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) in Hyderabad on September 28, 2016. In another development, Sandhya and Shivani who are also students of Prerna Girls School shone in the recently concluded Mandal Vidyalaya Basketball Tournament and have now been selected for the under-19 state level tournament.

Study Hall students bag 18 medals in swimming

Study Hall School students shone the brightest in the recently concluded CBSE Inter School Sports Competition held in Ranchi. Five members of the swimming team from Study Hall School bagged a total of 18 medals. Akiksha Singh was the standout swimmer in the tournament as she managed 5 gold medals in 200 mts, 400 mts, 100 mts and 50 mts freestyle category. She also won gold in the  200 mts individual medley. Mihir Singh won gold in 100 mts and 200 mts freestyle, silver in 50 mts and 400 mts freestyle and bronze in 200 mts breast stroke categories. Sachin Yadav won gold in 100 mts and 50 mts breaststroke while he stood second in the 50 mts backstroke and 200 mts breaststroke categories. Priyansh Agarwal won gold in 200 mts freestyle, came second in 50 mts freestyle and third in 100 mts freestyle. Kapil Yadav bagged silver in 200 mts freestyle.  They have been selected for national swimming competition to be held in November.

Health Camp Organised for Prerna Girls

Prerna Girls School collaborated with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to organise a health camp for its students. The topic of discussion was ‘Balanced Diet’ and the participants were first asked about their food habits. This was followed by a talk on how iron-rich diet is of paramount importance for children especially girls. The dietitians present during the camp also made a presentation on ‘nutrition needs for growing body’ to sensitise students about healthy eating habits.

DOSTI children swim to success

DOSTI children mesmerised everyone with their skills during the swimming competition held on 15th September, 2016 at the school. They participated in various events like freestyle, pick and come, floating with floaters etc and won medals. The presence of parents was especially encouraging for the DOSTI children as it also motivated them to perform better.

Praharsh won gold in freestyle (25mts) while Zaira won gold in Pick and Come.

Stagecraft 2016

Study Hall School, Study Hall Educational Foundation hosted the second edition of the Stagecraft Inter-School Dramatics Competition on 8th September 2016 at Sant Gadge ji Maharaj Auditorium, Gomtinagar Lucknow.

Students from different schools of Lucknow namely – Lucknow Public Collegiate (Sharda Nagar), La’Martiniere Girls, Ramswaroop Memorial School, Jaipuria, Army Public School (Nehru Road), City Montessori School participated along with the students of Study Hall School. The competition was judged by the esteemed judges – Mrs. Surabhi Modi, Mrs. Zarine Viccajee and Dr. Kirti Narain and Mr. Sanyal. Study Hall strongly believes that drama is one of the most powerful tools used to express human creativity. It has also been instrumental in promoting critical thinking and dialogue in the learning atmosphere of the school. Dr. Urvashi Sahni, the school’s founder, envisions this as a platform for the meeting of diverse ideas and perspectives which can enhance as well as help us embrace the different facets of human life.

Mrs. Shalini Sinha, the Principal believes, the theme of stagecraft this year “Human Relationships” centers on the ethos of the school of inclusive and holistic education, creating proactive, lifelong learners, innovators and thinkers who are sensitive to the needs of others in the society. Teachers Day Celebrations

Study Hall, the school know for the special bond of teachers with the students celebrated this year’s Teacher’s Day(5th September 2016) with high spirits and zeal at the Study Hall School, Gomti Nagar.

All the teachers were dressed up beautifully in their alluring attires and had put up their enticing smiles to brighten up everyone’s day. The class 12th students had dressed up as different teachers and welcomed them with flowers and words of love and appreciation. The event started with a welcoming speech from the school vice head girl who had dressed up as the school’s vice principal Mrs. Meenakshi Bahadur. It was followed by different music performances, a dance drama by class 8 and a fashion show(with class 6 students dressed up as Teachers). The event concluded with a dance performance by class 12, followed by the Vice head boy’s speech thanking all our amazing teachers.The teachers, after the event, were escorted to the staff room which was converted into a restaurant by the students and were served delicious refreshments made by Didi’s. All the teachers were later given cards and flowers and were pampered by their students. The students right from standard 6 had prepared all the performances on their own and had left no stone unturned to make this day a memorable one for their beloved teachers. The teachers were touched receiving so much admiration and affection from their students.Happy Teacher’s Day to all teachers!
