SHEF-HCLF Uday organises Inter-house school event in 16 govt schools in collaboration with Basic Shiksha Vibhag

Study Hall Educational Foundation in collaboration with HCLF and Basic Shiksha Vibhag organized theme-based inter-house school events at Naubasta Upper primary school in Lucknow. The theme of the event was – Stop violence against women.
Delegates from Basic Shiksha Vibhag were present at the event and appreciated the children and teachers in schools. The event will be conducted in all 16 partnered government schools in Lucknow urban. The event will end on 10 December.
SHEF-HCL Uday project lead, Shikha Singh said, “We are delighted to have active participation of students, parents and teachers. Our children performed confidently and with great zeal and enthusiasm. These events appear no less like Utsav.” SHEF-HCLUday (2018) is an initiative in collaboration with the Hindustan Computers Limited (HCL) Foundation and the UP government that aims to improve minimum learning levels in 16
government schools in Lucknow through teacher training and continuous academic support.
Alisha, a student of class 8 said, “I had a stage fright earlier, but now I feel confident to participate in this event. My teachers and classmates have been a big support for me.” Alisha anchored the event gracefully.
Rasheeda Khatoon, principal of Basic School Naubasta said, “Our children have enjoyed preparing for this event. There has been so much learning for our children. It is a great opportunity for them to build their confidence.”
The event was a fusion of talent, imagination, creativity and alertness. Whether it was a group song, dance, art, poster making, or writing creative poems, these activities helped to bring out the uniqueness of each child. The event ended with the distribution of prizes and certificates to the winners by Sabhasad, Sadhna Verma and she also appreciated the efforts put in by all the participants and teachers. The event concluded successfully with great words of encouragement and appreciation from judges.

International Yoga Day: SHEF-HCL Uday organises Yog Shivir in 16 govt schools

Lucknow: Celebrating the International Yoga Day, SHEF-HCL UDAY teachers organized a four day Yog Shivir, in 16 government schools. 17th to 21st of June, yoga gurus were invited to the schools to sensitize children with yoga practices in schools.
Shikha Singh, project manager, SHEF-HCL Uday program said, “This is the first time most of the children are learning about yoga and its benefits. It is really important for children to start practicing a healthy lifestyle and what better than yoga.”
Students along with their parents participated and enjoyed Yog Shivir and learned a lot from experts. This 4-day yoga camp was successfully conducted by SHEF volunteers and government teachers, who instilled
zeal for yoga in the children. Children of 16 schools and their parents enthusiastically participated on this Yoga Day.
Since 2018, SHEF partnered with HCL Foundation and government of Uttar Pradesh to improve the learning outcomes in 16 government schools across Lucknow. SHEF-HCLF understands that education is critical for overall development of personality and attitude of children by bringing positive changes in a child’s life.

Study Hall Educational Foundation hosts its 7th Nursery Teacher Training convocation ceremony

Study Hall Educational Foundation (SHEF) organized the 7th convocation ceremony of its Nursery and Primary Teacher Training (NTT) course. Priya Kakkar, Director of NTT program at SHEF welcomed the gathering and shared the success stories of 18 graduating teachers. She said, “This is an apprenticeship model of training that empowers teachers to acquire teaching skills suited to the needs of the children of the 21st century.” She added, “My heart swells with pride year after year when I share the success stories of the teachers graduating and carving a niche for themselves in the society. I wish that they carry

with them the unique mission of shef and spread it far and wide.” 

Dr Urvashi Sahni, Founder and CEO of SHEF congratulated the teachers and said, “Teachers have the power to direct change, to mold minds and transform people and the society. As teachers, it is our duty to empower students and to educate them for gender equality and social justice to make them active democratic citizens and caring changemakers.”

The NTT trainees are placed in various reputed institutions across Lucknow, such as Seth MR Jaipuria, Kunskapsskolan, Colvin Taluqdaar, Prep School, Study Hall School, Study Hall Educational Foundation, Prerna Girls school, CMS, VIBGYOR (Pune), DPS, City International School. The courses were run at two centers, one at Gomti Nagar and one at Vidyasthali School in Malihabad.

Garima, one of the graduating students shared, “We actually follow so much that we have been  taught here, the Bloom’s taxonomy is an intrinsic part of our lesson planning, concrete to abstract, and so many more concepts now resonate with me when I am actually teaching children.”

Ritu, from Malihabad said, “I have not only acquired many teaching skills but I am observing many beautiful changes in myself. I am much more confident and proactive now.”

Vanshika, “NTT course helped me learn the methods of planned teaching through play and experiments. It gave me the opportunity to learn advanced teaching methods.”

The families of the graduating teachers were present at the ceremony. Dance, poems and stories were the medium chosen by the outgoing batch to share about their one year journey and enriching experiences at Study Hall School. The event ended with a vote of thanks.

4th convocation of Nursery and Primary Teacher Training held

The 4th convocation of Nursery and Primary Teacher Training was held in the Prep School, Study Hall, on March 25, 2019. The families of graduating trainees were in full attendance, elated and proud.
Study Hall Educational Foundation (SHEF) runs a teacher training program. Over 50 women have found new avenues and life-changing opportunities through the platform. 16 trainees who have undergone training under different programmes during the year were awarded certificates by Dr. Urvashi Sahni, Founder, and CEO, SHEF. The trainees shared their experience, as how their life has undergone a major transformation, making them self aware and independent. Ruchi, a student of NTT program said, “I came here as a mother to get my son’s admission, and became a student. This program boosted my confidence and has given new meaning to my life.” Shikha, another student said, “This program gave me a free space to learn and grow. I rediscovered myself through this program.”
Our founder Dr. Urvashi Sahni congratulated the students and said, “Our teacher training is atypical. They are personal transformation programs. Teachers learn who they are and that’s our biggest achievement.”
Ms. Shashi Mehta, principal of Prep School blessed the outgoing teachers, with a message of spreading quality education far and wide. Ms. Priya Kakkar, Director thanked the gathering for their presence.
