Study Hall Center for Learning students felicitated during convocation ceremony

Convocation ceremony of class X and XII students of the Study Hall Center for Learning here on Friday.
The ceremony started with the welcoming of the chief guest regional director of NIOS. Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta And special guest Carlyle McFarland principal La Martiniere School.
Dr. Pratima Srivastava, the principal of Study Hall Center for Learning shared the percentages of the children with an emphasis that the numbers are not their priority.
The highest percentage was 90 and the average was 72. This was followed by a speech by the CEO of Study Hall Educational Foundation Dr. Urvashi Sahni. She explained how NIOS is a very progressive board which has been built on the belief that every child has a unique way of learning and should be given multiple ways to succeed.
She also congratulated the students on their academic achievements. A song – Purane din – by the students of Study Hall Center for Learning this speech. Special children from Study Hall’s DOSTI who had managed to pass class 10 were also a convocated. Suchita Singh with 90% was the topper. She is now preparing for JJ School of Art and also associated with a local NGO. Ayush was second and Sonali was third. Ayush is now studying in National School of Law, Delhi.
The students were given prizes and certificates.  This was followed by an English song – wrecking ball –  performance by the students.  Graduating students also shared their experience with the gathering and thanked the school.  A western dance was presented by the students as well
Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta said that he was overwhelmed by the performances by the students and applauded the efforts of the teachers and students. He quoted Buddha and said that we should be our own light and never stop dreaming big despite all the hurdles.

Prerna Girls School Carnival a big hit

Much fanfare marked the Prerna Girls School Carnival (Childrens’ Day) held here on Tuesday.
Fun and games made sure the kids had a good time and kept playing till the carnival drew to a close. So many Games were great Hits among those visiting the school on a sunny afternoon.

Convocation Ceremony held at Malihabad’s Vidyasthali School

Study Hall Educational Foundation’s Vidyasthali School in Malihabad organized the Convocation Ceremony on Thursday, October 26, 2017. Chandroo Kevalramani of the Kevalramani Foundation was the chief guest on the occasion. The principal of the school Anusha Sharma proposed the welcome address said that it was a matter of great pride for all the teachers and parents to see the students graduating and scoring marks above 85%.

The founder of the school Dr. Urvashi Sahni thanked Chandroo Kevalramani for his continued support to the Vidyasthali School and further talked about how quality education creates democratic equal citizens.

Several cultural performances were also held on the occasion. Song renditions, salsa dance and classical dance were some of the highlights of the show. Parents of Vidyasthali students also took the stage and thanked the teachers and administrative staff for creating and nurturing a school which provides high quality subsidized education to children 55 villages spread across the Malihabad area.

The highlight of the event was when Chandroo Kevalramani also dedicated the newly constructed building to the Vidyasthali School. This building could only be erected due to the untrammeled support of Mr Kevalramani.

Fire drill held at Study Hall School

A Fire Drill was conducted on 7.10.17 on the school ground by the Fire Department to showcase the working of fire extinguisher and fire hydrant.  An evacuation plan was also discussed.  It was attended by all the students, teachers and the support staff.

Study Hall Educational Foundation wins Social Entrepreneur of the year 2017 award


The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, a sister organization of the World Economic Forum, in partnership with the Jubilant Bhartia Foundation announced Urvashi Sahni founder of Study Hall Educational Foundation (SHEF) as the winner of the Social Entrepreneur of the Year India 2017 Award.

The Award was conferred by Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, Minister of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India in the presence of over 300 participants at a high-profile gathering in New Delhi today night.

Urvashi Sahni was awarded for contribution in the field of education that includes, empowers and builds leaders among disadvantaged girls. Aided by technology, policy push and partnerships with the Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh Govt., SHEF has scaled its model of education to 900 Govt. schools. It has trained 5000 teachers and impacted 1,50,000 girls directly and 2,70,000 girls indirectly in the hotbeds of poverty and gender discrimination.

Self Defence Session with the Red Brigade

Study Hall girls had an excellent Self Defence Session with the Red Brigade Organization.  Some 100 girls were taught the skill of self-defense. The most important aspect of the workshop was that the technique demonstrated was from the ‘Attackers’ mentality. The basic skills were taught and girls participated enthusiastically.
