Are the daughter of India unsafe?

Prutyay Gautam
Class VII B, Study Hall School
‘yes’ I think so that daughters of India are safe in their homes.but as they move out of their homes they are in great-great danger because of sick people. If these men pray to goddess Durga for strength why can’t they just give some respect to their daughters, wives, mothers and other females. Our history also tells us that women are equal to to men and also equal to goddesses. If we want to stop this horrible, horrific acts we must punish these.
Now lets take the rape case in the bus.The culprits should not be hanged but they should be beaten to death. It should be recorded and shown on T.V. so that the future rapists would learn a lesson.
This line is basically for the parents. Please respect women in front of your children so that they are able to respect ladies.

Digital Study Hall is running a “Girl Empowerment Program” in Naxal-infested Sonebhadra district, considered one of the most backward districts in India. The collective voice of the girls from KGBV Chopan depicts how fundamental freedom is still a dream for some adolescents who feel pinned in a corner in a remote village after sunset.

सिमट गयी है मेरी ज़िन्दगी ;

Mrs so and so ———-

The time has come

Rajul Bhatnagar

A transparent future assures us that the TIME of women is arriving.  In many countries it has already arrived.  In some States of India, its drum beat can already be heard.  A time when this transient veil of despondency vapourises and women and daughters of our great country are WANTED, are SAFE and are more than EQUAL.

“This century is the best time to be born as woman”, said Hillary Clinton, a couple of years ago.  When President Obama visited India, our Foreign Secretary (Ms. Nirupma Rao) and our ambassador to the U.S. (Ms. Shankar) jointly hosted him and Michelle Obama for being introduced to Ms. Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson of the largest ruling political party, Ms. Sushma Swaraj, Leader of the opposition, thereafter to the speaker of the Lok Sabha, Ms. Meera Kumar and finally to the country’s President, Mrs. Pratibha Patil. “Awesome” Obama would have thought. Ladies already ahead in India as compared to the U.S.!  The fact that our Socio-Political fabric mirrors countless women leaders, owes its origin to Mahatma Gandhi’s active inclusion of women in our freedom struggle.

In fact, women have always been leading.  In the past it was behind the scene, behind the kingdoms, behind the home and hearth and now it will all be out in the open.  Be it political or social leadership, C.E.O.’s of large and small MNC’s or units, Educationists, Financial or Developmental sector, you can’t miss the drum-beats.  The future belongs to women.  They have taken over.  It is said that when the time is ripe for an idea, no one can stop it.  The TIME has come.

A voice against crime

Anjana
Teacher, Study Hall School

Today ,the morning newspapers arrive as misshapen birds of ill- omen, sedition murder and barbaric acts of rape. Difficult to believe but child marriage, female infanticide is still around for some inexplicable reason. As responsible citizens we must all contribute to keep crime under control. Court should take serious cases for trial immediately .We need to make tough laws against gangsters and implement them ruthlessly. I am happy that our school is voicing against crime instead of helplessly being swept away by the fear wave.

Depali Tripathi
Teacher, Prerna Girls School

Chetna

Do you kill your brothers and sisters?

Gauri Singh
Student, Study Hall School

A country which was managed by a woman president should have been the
safest place for women, not only a woman president and women chief ministers
of states like Sheila Dixit of Delhi ; Mamta Banerjee of West Bengal etc.
On the contrary, I was startled to know that it has had many murders, rape cases,
crimes etc. Now, people are saying that India is the fourth most dangerous
country for women in the whole world and that is just because of these
debauched people. In turn this will decrease the reputation of our nation and
soon we will also get an ignominious title like Africa has ‘RAPE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD‘.
All this is due to lack of education. We can’t just kill anyone for fun , it is written
in our pledge’s 2nd line as well that – ‘ India is our country, All Indians are my brothers and sisters. Do you kill your brothers and sisters ? So if all Indians are your brothers and sisters then why kill someone or commit a crime.

Critical dialogue videos in my school

Deepshikha Gautam
Class 8, KGBV Malihabad, Lucknow

Yes we can change this world, I am Deepshikha Gautam  15 year old class 8th student from Mohammad Nagar, Taluquabad, Lucknow. I am the youngest among five sisters and two brothers. According to my teachers, I am focused and I dream big. I am proficient in three languages – Hindi, Urdu and English.

Like any other lower middle class Indian family, my parents were biased and gave more importance and facilities to the boys. Last year when I went home for the summer vacations, I noticed this discrimination and raised my voice against this unfair practice. I have been watching critical dialogues of Prerna School girls in the videos provided by DSH and this helped me to talk to my parents. I managed to convince them to change their views and be more sensitive towards me and my sisters.

DSH critical dialogues are real life saviors because they empowered me and made me feel that I too is an important part of the family and society. I am truly thankful to the DSH team for introducing critical dialogue videos in my school.
