Roots : first alumni meet

The first alumni meet was held on the 22nd of June and though it took place in the middle of our summer holidays, it was an honor to have hosted it. It brought together so many people as well as showed us, how Study Hall has created such wonderful persons.

We were privileged to meet alumni who had finished school since 2003 as well as those who left the institution in April 2013. A cross-section of people was present but we all felt like this one place connected us to each other. It was this very bonding and familiarity we had hoped to reignite. I am in class twelve now and my time in this school is near conclusion. When its time for me to go, I know now that I have another family out there, who will be there for me.

From what everyone spoke about, I understood this: Study Hall was a safe place, where they grew into themselves. If they made a few wrong decisions there was always a guide to help them find their path. They had their ups and downs but made great friends for life. They may leave but deep down, they know they’ll return. Study Hall is where their roots are and they will always be grateful to have belonged to it. Lastly I learnt that these will be the days which I will remember for ages to come, and the one’s I will tell my kids about. I shall make new memories and treasure the ones I already have.
