Prerna girls get scholarships to aid their higher education

The Convocation ceremony of the Prerna Girls School (a school for underprivileged girls) was organised on with great pomp and show Thursday at the Study Hall School. A total of 18 students who had cleared class 12 along with and 23 students had cleared class 10 were felicitated on the occasion.

In addition to this at total of 10 Prerna Girls School alumni who are now enrolled in graduation and post graduation courses were given financial assistance of Rs 20,000.
Speaking in the occasion the chief guest Prof. (Dr.) Qamar Rahman said that the Prerna Girls School is a very good initiative for underprivileged girls and added she was very impressed with performances.
On the occasion, Sunil Sahni of the Study Hall Education Foundation announced the setting up of the Shakuntala Devi and Amritlal Sahni Scholarship fund. Selected girls will get a scholarship of Rs 50,000 for pursuing higher education.
Director of the Study Hall Educational Foundation, Dr Urvashi Sahni encouraged the girls to continue on their path of women empowerment.
